What to expect
4-step one-on-one counseling
Our nutrition counseling consists of a comprehensive 4 session plan. For best results, the sessions should be spread out at around once per week, with each session lasting 75 minutes. The structure of each session will be designed to fit in with your starting point, no matter what that is. During the sessions you'll have the guidance and support of your individual counselor. In-between sessions, during the week, you'll have unlimited e-mail support with your counselor.
First session
- We'll review your intake questionnaire together
- We'll look at your health history, your current state of health, and your goals
- You'll start learning the keys to understanding your habits and lifestyle
- We'll look at a 3 day food recall record, to see what you're eating at the moment
- We'll design an eating plan that suits your personal needs and likes
- We'll starting looking at practical tips for improving your health, and your family's health
- You'll be able to immediately start choosing healthier alternatives when shopping, and lower your shopping costs in the process
- We'll discuss any questions you have, and you'll receive additional information on any health related issues
- We'll look at the latest science to back up any suggestions, along with potential recommendations for laboratory testing, if needed
Second session
- We'll look at any obstacles or difficulties that prevented you from reaching your goals, and make suggestions for different ways to deal with them
- You'll get just enough educational material to help you understand what we're doing, but not so much that it becomes overwhelming
- We'll look at the tools that are available to help you manage your nutrition and reach your goals
- We'll discuss physical activity
- We'll lay the foundation for behavior change
Third session
- We will look at and assess previously set goals
- We will asses a three day food log, if needed
- We'll look at portion size
- We'll look at meal preparation, and how to make it simpler
- We'll start increasing awareness of the multiple factors that can affect your nutrition intake, such as shopping choices, eating out, and holidays
- We'll continue working on behavior change, and how to make the changes last long term
Fourth session
- You will have gained confidence about your nutrition knowledge, and you will be ready for your lifetime of health
- We will assess and chart your lifestyle change goals
- You'll learn how to manage and maintain
- We will look at how to prevent relapse
- You will get your our appreciation and completion certificate, that you will have sell deserved!
